Privacy Policy — AIMS Math Academy

Overview

AIMS Math Academy ("the App", "we", "us") is a free math learning app for students, built by AIMS Classes. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. The App is free to use, with no purchases, and is supported by advertising.

Information We Collect

The App collects the following information to provide its features:

Anonymous device identifier (via Firebase Authentication)	Created automatically on install so your progress (XP, streak, quiz scores, badges) can be saved and synced, with no sign-up required.
Email address (optional)	Only if you choose to create an account ("Sign Up") to keep your progress when switching devices.
Learning progress (XP, streak, quiz scores, badges, chapter completion)	To show your dashboard, unlock badges, and sync progress across devices.
Study Circle content (drawings, text on the shared whiteboard)	Shown live to the friends in your invite-only study group. This content is temporary — it is not permanently stored, and is cleared once everyone leaves the group.
Advertising data (via Google AdMob)	To display ads that keep the App free. See "Advertising" below for details.

Services We Use

The App uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database) — Google's app-development platform, used to store progress and Study Circle data. Firebase Privacy Policy

Advertising

The App shows ads through Google AdMob to keep it free for all students and schools. The App requests non-personalized ads only — ads are not based on a profile built from your personal browsing or app-usage history.

Some ads (Rewarded ads) are optional: you choose to watch one to unlock a hint, bonus XP, or streak recovery. You are never required to watch an ad to use the App's core learning content.

Children's Privacy

AIMS Math Academy is designed for students and may be used by children. We do not knowingly collect more information from children than is described in this policy, and we do not require any personal information (email, name, etc.) to use the App — an anonymous account is created automatically, and creating an email account is entirely optional.

Ads shown in the App are requested as non-personalized. Where required by applicable law or Google Play policy for a mixed-audience or child-directed app, ad requests are configured accordingly to limit data collection and personalization for users identified as children.

Study Circle — Additional Notes

Study Circle lets a small, invite-only group of students (up to 7) share a live whiteboard. There is no direct messaging or chat between students — only shared drawing/text on the whiteboard, visible to group members while they're active. Whiteboard content is not permanently saved and is cleared when the group becomes empty. Group membership (who is in a circle) is stored so the group can be reused across sessions, until a member leaves or the group is deleted.

Data Retention & Deletion

Progress data is retained for as long as you use the App. If you created an email account, you can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device; cloud-synced data can be deleted on request.

Your Choices

You can use the App fully without creating an email account.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us.
You can opt out of Google's ad personalization generally via your device's ad settings, though the App already requests non-personalized ads by default.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the App's features change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
